Tandraorka is based in East of Iceland. It is implementing Biochar project from two lines of different feedstock. In first line the feedstock is sustainably sourced raw thinning wood, in second line it is waste wood. The wood is placed in pyrolysis unit (heated without an oxygen) and this process is producing Biochar, which can be used for concrete and asphalt production, as a fertilizer or as an animal feed. Biochar is sustainable material, it has a significant positive impact on asphalt and concrete properties, helping soil to fix the minerals and in the end removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
