Project Description

The Abu Ali Island Mangrove Planting Project, led by Saudi Aramco, focuses on restoring mangroves along Saudi Arabia's Arabian Gulf coast. Starting in 2017, this initiative aims to plant 1,210 hectares of mangroves by 2030 to boost carbon sequestration and biodiversity. By capturing an estimated 145,890 tCO₂e over 30 years, it supports Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative, enhancing coastal resilience, mitigating greenhouse gases, and promoting ecosystem restoration.
